About my Book Recommendations
These recommendations are just a few of the books that I have read myself and found particularly helpful. If you are interested in new thought, and a new paradigm in leadership and business, then I hope you will enjoy them too.
Please remember however, that other people’s take on how to do anything is always only their take. It does not mean its right for you. You are the one who knows you best, and when all is said and done, go with your instinct. Or call me, and I’ll help you fathom what your instinct is telling you!
Please note: the following recommendations are linked with the Amazon Associate programme and will provide me with credit towards a gift certificate from Amazon should you purchase through these links. When I have accrued enough credits, I use them to purchase a book for one of my clients, by way of a thank you for using my services.
Books For Career Changers
This was the first ever book I used to help me change my career. Thank you Nicholas Lore!
I trained with Laura Berman Fortgang to deliver career change coaching using this book, ’90 Days to a New Life Direction’ as the platform for change. Here’s the inscription she wrote on the inside of my copy:
“Sandra, Thank you for making us coaches look good. You are doing noble work. Keep it up. L”
This book is a great resource for anyone who wants help pinpointing their top 5 strengths.
I met Steve Nobel back in 2012, and resonate with his take on career change in the 21st Century.
I very much enjoyed Ken Robinson’s concept that the element is the point at which “natural talent meets personal passion”.
Books For Small Business Owners:
This book came highly recommended to me by a leading U.S new thought coach. Its very practical and will help get your website going in the right direction!
I met Lynn Sarafinn in 2013 after reading this book, which I loved. Its especially great for those of you who don’t get on with traditional sales and marketing strategies. What she doesn’t know about marketing and social media isn’t worth knowing!
Authentic is the buzz word of the 21st Century so far. Rightly so. If you are not authentic, then who are you? Such an important question in todays new world.
Books For Your Personal, Emotional & Spiritual Development
I studied the Enneagram in 2013. I’m not an expert (I can point you in the direction of experts) but am delighted to have found a personality typing system that is based on ancient wisdom and helps you realise you’re not alone!
Brene Brown’s work has changed our understanding of vulnerability and shame and brought those previously taboo topics into the open to help us become truly ‘wholehearted’.
Daniel Goldman’s work on EQ (Emotional Intelligence) was the among the first books I read around this subject, and helped me get back in control of my life.
The Law of Attraction is becoming an ever more popular concept. For a practical application of this natural law to bring you more of the things you want in life, this book is a helpful resource.
I read The Power of Now on my honeymoon. Not the choice of most honeymooners, I agree, but I found a deep sense of peace and comfort reading this in the shade of the grapevines by the pool. Enjoy!
Louise Hay’s Heal Your Life was the very first book I read on my journey to a better life. Her book has continued to be a helpful reference over the years. I was lucky enough to meet her and have her sign my copy. Here we are together:
